Dr Lynette Benson completed her Master's in Chiropractic (cum laude) from the University of Johannesburg in 2022. She is registered with the Chiropractic Association of South Africa (CASA), Chirosport SA and the Allied Health Professions Council of South Africa (AHPCSA).
During her studies, she completed a sports massage course through the Health and Fitness Professionals Academy (HFPA), after which she worked at two editions of the prestigious Absa Cape Epic and three editions of the Joberg2c MTB events. She also tutored all major modules for the University of Johannesburg Department of Chiropractic during her final year of studies and has worked at various ChiroSport events since graduating, giving back to the chiropractic community and helping future colleagues complete their internships.
She has a passion for sports, having competed at national and international levels across four cycling disciplines, and provincially in hockey. Because she has personally suffered from various sports-related injuries, she empathizes with the frustration brought about by sitting on the sidelines. She regards chiropractic as the secret weapon in treating and preventing sports-related injuries, as she believes it helps patients improve in strength, endurance, and overall sporting (recreational or professional) performance.
Dr Lynette Benson also has a special interest in family wellness and treating babies. Her friendly and empathetic nature and her desire to improve her patients' overall health provide a strong basis for patient-orientated care.
